A delightful, quick, and easy treat filled with tender apples and warm spices, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk and egg until mixed.
  3. Combine mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Fold in apples: Gently fold in the chopped apples until they are evenly distributed in the batter.
  5. Heat oil: In a deep fryer or large pot, heat oil over medium heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).
  6. Fry fritter bites: Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Drain and cool: Use a slotted spoon to remove the fritters and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Dust and serve: Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm. Enjoy!

Notes

Check oil temperature to avoid greasy fritters; use fresh apples for the best flavor.
