Ingredients
- 1½ oz silver clear base (tequila or mezcal)
- 1 oz citrus orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
- ½ oz agave nectar or simple syrup
- 1 activated charcoal capsule (or 2–3 drops black food coloring)
- Ice (for mixing and serving)
- Black salt or sugar for rimming
- Lime wheel or wedge for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the glass by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into black salt or sugar.
- Mix the silver clear base, orange liqueur, lime juice, agave nectar or simple syrup, and activated charcoal in a shaker.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and froth the mixture.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim.
