A whimsical twist on classic candy apples featuring vibrant colors and a glow-in-the-dark surprise, perfect for parties and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Candy coloring (cotton candy flavor)
  • Lollipop sticks or candy apple sticks
  • Glow-in-the-dark edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert the lollipop sticks into the top of each apple, ensuring they are secure.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature until it reaches 300°F (the hard crack stage).
  4. Once the candy reaches 300°F, remove the saucepan from heat. Quickly stir in the vanilla extract and candy coloring.
  5. Dip each apple into the candy mixture, swirling to coat evenly. Let any excess candy drip back into the pot.
  6. Place the coated apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool.
  7. If using, sprinkle the glow-in-the-dark edible glitter over the apples while the candy coating is still wet.
  8. Allow the candy apples to cool completely before serving them to enjoy their colorful charm.

Notes

Use firm apples for the best texture. Monitor the candy temperature closely and work quickly to avoid hardening.
