Delightfully festive cookies perfect for Halloween celebrations, ideal for both kids and adults.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Decorations (colored icing, sprinkles, and candy eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined to keep the cookies tender.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets before transferring to wire racks.
  9. Once the cookies are completely cool, decorate with colored icing, sprinkles, and candy eyes.
